You can find most of Portland's Punks hanging out Downtown drinkin 40 Ouncers an Raisin Hell.Plenty of House Parties when it is to cold for Hangin Out.Zootz (Bad Habits Live)had the best All-Age Shows.There are some shows at the local halls nowadays.These shows are All Ages.Occasionally one of the local clubs will allow an All-Age show but these are infrequent.ost of the Punks come out for Big Meat Hammer shows.See Jordan's Crypt videos featuring local Bands.Portland has had Punk Bands since the mid-1970's.The Stains and The Technicians were some of the earliest Local Punk Bands.One of the Stains (Beth Blood) has owned a clothing store for over 10 years supplying wild hair colors,bracelets,vintage clothing,etc.The Rhythm Guitarist of the Technicians is the Bass player of Big Meat Hammer.Kip Brown's band The Pontiffs have a Punk Edge and they have all been playing in Portland since the 1970's.Kip Brown was in the Technicians and before that was in Marquis De Sade a band that did Dolls,MC5,Iggy,etc, in 1975.The Brood was an all girl 60's Garage Band who Rocked. The Brood formed in 1984 and have numerous releases....LP's,7",and on Comps.Check them out if can.Check out The Tumors and also Don't Hit Your Sister who were both local Punk Bands.Check out Down To Kill who are a good local Portland Punk Band. The longest lived Club in town is Geno's 13 Brown St. 207-774-8760 ask for Barbara.Geno's does over 21 shows. Geno's has been going strong for 21 years now.The best shows up here nowadays are the parties we throw at the Stud's Palace.
